Riverstone Precinct Structure Plans

Sydney, New South Wales

A number of scenarios were planned that would support a sustainable and functional development path for the Riverstone Growth Centre Precinct in support of Sydney’s growth plan.

Developed in line with the then communities aspirations, opportunities were identified that allowed the existing townships and proposed new growth zones within the precinct to respond to internal social, economic and environmental opportunities.

Subsequently external influences, such as Rouse Hill, and Alexandra Avenue Growth Centre Precinct, provided further opportunities to ensure that Riverstone Precinct becomes an important asset to the City of Blacktown and Sydney.

The Precinct Structure planning process was aligned to the NSW Growth Centres Development Code and in particular it focused upon three main parameters, Housing, Employment and Infrastructure, while ensuring that these components are assembled to provide the development of sustainable communities.

The output to each of these scenarios was to create data for the carrying capacity of the precinct and to understand state and local infrastructure provision inline with long term development contribution
